Senator Murkowski may have received criticism for acknowledging that she along with her colleagues are terrified of repercussions to resisting Trump mandates. But thanks to the courage she demonstrated in sharing the, the world now how first hand proof of how our representatives are being mobilised against the wishes of those of us who elected them. Bravo Senator Murkowski.
Will we ever forget the words, “I’m oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice because retaliation is real”? Of course, her voice is representing the voice of all those she represents. Not only that, she is clear that this fear applies to ALL - “we are all afraid”. It is simply not a well functioning democracy when our voice is stifled due to fear of retribution.
