WHY IT MATTERS

What do we know about ICE?

We know that they wear masks either - as they claim - as a means of not being doxxed (in which case, it raises the question, "Why do something you are ashamed of - or that is incredibly unpopular) or, as is claimed by others - as a means to intimidate local communities.

• We know that the DOJ have stated in court that THEY are worried about the actions that will be taken by ICE if THEY are resisted by the courts - strongly suggesting that ICE is not under the control of the DOJ.
• We know that they are often unprepared to either identify themselves nor show any warrant.
• We know that they have far exceeded the budget allocated by Congress.
• We know that they have detained not only illegal immigrants - bit also legal immigrants, people who are not immigrants at all, public officials merely doing their jobs... Not something that we can allow to become normalised!
• We know, as the result of stories like this, that the program that ICE is enabling is cruel beyond justification of all but the worst of humanity. Such stories contribute to waking some up - and driving down the popularity polls of a president who already has the worst polling in American history.

We know, in short - that comparisons with secret police of Nazi Germany in the 30's and 40's are valid - and that Tom Holman and his band of thugs are on the wrong side of history.
