WHY IT MATTERS
Mark tells us, "Our democracy is in real trouble". Some of us already know this. Others - perhaps fans of his - need to hear this from as many sources as possible.
The battle that is being fought is not a partisan issue even though some malignant forces would like to create this divide. It is, instead a battle between a carefully planned coup by those who have distain for any form of equality and those who seek solutions that benefit all of society.
It is a brave act for famous people to take a political stance - particularly given the cult status of support for Donald Trump and his "Make America Great Again" messaging. Which is why it is all the more admirable when they do so. There will always be those who are not fully entrenched in the lies of this administration but who sustain some level of support for their stated intentions. When popular people speak out, there are likely to be fans who begin to question things more - "Hang on ... I know about Mark Ruffalo - he's always seemed like a decent and sensible sort of... perhaps there is something to these protests after all?..."
