WHY IT MATTERS
Bondi falsely accused (and mis-quoted) Crockett of calling for attacks on Elon Musk. Crockett stood up to subsequent public threats made by the AG.
When the Attorney General of the U.S. decides that the laws she is upholding are those of the jungle - rather than of the people - we have serious problems.
The Democratic Party has attracted a lot of justified criticism. Whether it’s about historic corruption (of course, this applies to both major political parties) or about their unwillingness to fight dirty! Sadly, weak leadership in both parties leads to lazy conclusions that “they are all the same!”. This, in turn, leads to an inappropriate credibility of genuinely dangerous populist politicians who consistently teach us throughout history that things can certainly get much much worse!
However, there are certainly some democratic representatives who absolutely do fight hard to help bring important things to our attention. Jasmine Crockett is one such representative. She may be afraid - but it does not prevent her from doing her duty in confronting bullies with extraordinary granted power. We should celebrate this courage.
She points out that:
“This is not about partisanship” - this is simply “good vs. evil; right vs. wrong”
“This entire administration is rogue”
No beating about the bush. It does not matter whether you have a distaste for the Democratic Party. It does not matter what you think about Rep. Crockett. What matters is that she is here modelling courage, integrity and truth.
