WHY IT MATTERS
Kate is not only doing her job - to support those immigrant families who are following the rules. She is also active in highlighting the injustices faced by these families.
Kate is a real attorney highlighting the plight of real families - and the critical point is that ICE are detaining people who are “following the rules” - doing what they are supposed to be doing.
Of course, this won’t matter to those people who have learned to project all of their anger at immigrants. This platform is not aimed at actual racist people. But for everybody else, this is why people are protesting - not to protect the rights of criminals but those of good people - many of whom contribute hugely to our communities.
