WHY IT MATTERS
In addition to ensuring constituents are given an opportunity to express their needs and wants, this action also highlighted in an inspired way that we have in the U.S. House of Congress representatives who have actively decided not to be accountable their constituents.
This, of course, is fine if you agree that democracy is a failed experiment - that only those with big money should choose how and even if we live. If not, then cancelling town halls because your constituents are unhappy with you is inexcusable.
